So what's the story? What gives?

It's been a proper decade since we ventured into this field, happy to be selling and growing with you as Candelight 🧿 But somewhere there was always that disconnect between candles and skin.. With the addition of live counters and custom gifting, we were saturated and stuck in the same bubble! The nationwide lockdown and the pandemic didn't help things either 😩

Donné was a dream,

one I was far too afraid to pursue, until Seoul touched my soul. A vacay to  (let's face it)the current beauty K-apital of the world, the culture, the people, the devotion to beauty regimes, and to be absolutely honest, to one of the beauty brands I admire the MOST in the world 🤍 A fanatic to the point where I studied everything over the years about about their principles, values, their ethics and steadfastness to make this a better world we're actually proud of - In the plastic surgery global capital of the world this wholesome brand touched our hearts 🥺
The kind of customer service, the dedication of EACH and every employee, the thought put into each gift set, each product, even each and every sticker! 🤯 While something to aspire to, the level and fan following they so rightly amassed over the years was very inspiring while also intimidating. 
All good things must come to an end, and so did that trip. Holding our memories and beauty products safe to our hearts, less than 2 weeks passed when I wanted to care so - skincare 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I can't be the only one who does that..) - I whip out one of the products I stored very safely, but..
Product caught mould!
It had gone bad 🥲 And that broke my heart because I hadn't gotten to use it even once. Don't let the songs fool you, this is what true heartbreak feels like! Not even bad, it did exactly what nature intended it to - move on and mould.
Being believers in no preservatives ourselves, we understood and even appreciated their commitment to clean beauty. But in spite of all the care, the product moulded before time for the simple fact - It wasn't created to suit our climate in the first place!
India's humidity, heat, and overall skin sensibilities are very different from what our western counterparts create, how is this not a FACT yet? What we want is fast beauty, but is that what our skin needs? Our Indian skin is much thicker than that of people from other regions in the world. More prone to tanning but less prone to getting sunburnt, so how does a product formulated for an entirely different ethnicity, continent and climate figure into this?
We have more homegrown brands now, with some gaining national accreditation and acceptance, but still, there seemed to be something missing..

When exactly did we stop having fun? 

When did it all become about brand identity and spiffy online etiquettes and social media followers, about the perfect collab and the newest IT ingredient on the block. About product bundles and tedious routines to achieve the dream - perfect skin = perfect life🧏🏻‍♀️?

Don’t get me wrong, I love skincare and have a 5 step skincare routine personally, but I’m also very lazy 🥲 If not lazy, busy! Seemingly an obvious gap, and oozing with creativity that’s sometimes hard to contain, I decided to take matters onto my own hands, literally, and have FUN and help you have fun!

We completely believe that skincare SHOULDN'T be boring, just effective, and want to build a community of people, like yourself, who believe the same.

We believe in creating products you actually need and not just want, and in being transparent about the whole process. We believe Cinderella needs to step away and realise glass skin is just healthy hydrated skin and looks different on everyone! We believe we can introduce you to a world where Korean skin meets Kerala Taillams.
